It's 1927. Rich and irresponsible Jimmy Winter, having been ordered to marry a respectable woman by his indomitable mother, crosses paths with clued-up bootlegger Billie Bendix. Billie pretends to fall for Jimmy while filling his empty mansion with illegal gin, but her plan is complicated by Jimmy's determined fiancee and her teetotal aunt, the Duchess.
